Why Proper Display exists
Story
Proper Display started because we wanted a better way to display our own collection — high-end model cars we'd been collecting up for almost twenty years. We wanted something that would show it off properly, keep it clean and protected, and still be easy to open up and enjoy.
That's still the goal today. We build new displays for individual collectors, and we take on custom work for larger collections, dealerships, and other commercial spaces.

Designed from a Collector's Perspective
We design as collectors, not just as builders. That shapes decisions most people wouldn't think about — proportions, materials, how light hits a piece from different angles, how a case actually holds up after being opened and closed a hundred times.
The result is something that keeps a collection protected and dust-free, but is still easy to rearrange, take things out of, and enjoy day to day.
Our Workshop
Made in Idaho, USA
We design and build every display ourselves in Idaho, from the first sketch and prototype through cutting, assembly, and finishing. Staying hands-on through the whole process lets us hold the details that matter — fit, materials, finish — to a standard we're happy with, and keep refining designs as we use them in our own collections.
It also means we can do something different when a project calls for it: a custom size, a personalized backboard, or a new approach altogether.
Displays for Every Collection
Model cars are what got us into this, but we've since built displays for LEGO® sets, sports memorabilia, action figures, vintage toys, and more. Every collecting community cares about their thing in a different way, and that's been one of the more interesting parts of doing this — what people collect, and why, says a lot about them.
Custom & Commercial Displays
Sometimes a collection or a space needs something outside our standard lineup. We take on custom projects for collectors, dealerships, and other businesses — different sizes and configurations, personalized backboards, branding, or something we haven't built before.
